Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, 1 L, The Bottle Club
Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
From Carpano, home of the first ever vermouth, this highly sought-after red vermouth is made to an original recipe dating from 1786.
Your Manhattans will never be the same again.
- Medium-bodied but very characterful aromas from the nose
- Surprisingly intense and long-lasting on the palate
- The orange peel/marmalade, tea and oak flavours seem most prominent but with plenty of other fruit and herby spices behind
The numerous aromatic plants that go into the recipe of Antica Formula are extracted by hot infusion or cold extraction methods handed down through the centuries, depending on the raw material. These methods, along with the recipe itself, constitute the secret of this product.
ANTICA FORMULA - Antica Formula dates from the late 1780s and was rediscovered and recreated in 2001, when Count Niccol\u00F2 Branca found a recipe for the vermouth, which he believes to be the original, or one of the original Benedetto Carpano recipes.
