Chempak Sulphur Chips provide an ideal soil base for healthy growth of ericaceous plants, which often struggle or show deficiencies in unsuitable soil. Designed to gradually reduce the pH content, these chips counteract limey conditions that most ericaceous (lime-hating) plants cannot tolerate.Application: Apply 135g per square metre (4oz per sq. yd.) to lower the pH by approximately 0.5 to 1 unit. For best results, apply when the soil warms up and retest to see if further application is needed to achieve the desired pH. It is advisable to wait until the soil warms to see the effectiveness of this application. If the desired pH is not realised more sulphur will be needed.Understanding Soil pH: Soil pH measures acidity or alkalinity on a scale of 0-14.
